Demcon takes over 3D printing company Bond3D

The Dutch company Demcon has acquired the 3D printing company Bond3D, which specializes in printing high-performance polymers. Bond3D was founded in 2014. In recent years, the company has developed technologies that enable dense components with high strength.

Bond3D focuses in particular on the use of PEEK (polyether ether ketone), a high-performance plastic known for its mechanical strength, chemical resistance, temperature stability and biocompatibility.

The acquisition enables Bond3D to continue working at the Demcon Technology Center in Enschede. Dennis Schipper, CEO of Demcon, sees the takeover as a strategic opportunity: “We can strengthen each other. We will provide Bond3D with financial resources that will enable them to further develop their 3D printing technology and realize promising new PEEK products. Our research and development departments and engineers are on hand to support them.”

Demcon, with more than 1,100 employees at locations in the Netherlands, Germany, Japan and Singapore, is expanding its portfolio with this acquisition. In addition to existing technologies in the field of metal and glass printing, the integration of Bond3D strengthens the company’s position in the field of polymer printing. This opens up new application possibilities for printed high-performance components in various industries.
