Desamanera 3D Stoneprinter is Now Available in America

Through a joint venture between Desamanera and the North American company ChemCognition LLC the 3D stone printer D-Shape will be available in America. Furthermore, the D-Shape printer should get an even bigger print area – now it has a build volume of 6 x 6 x 6 m.

The D-Shape is a 3D printer produced by Desamanera and has the ability to print stone objects. The printer combines stone powder (made of Zandobbio White dolomite rock) with liquid and dry binder. In the newest version the printer will have a print area of 9 x 9 x 9 meter. With such a large printing area they want to build parts of houses or sculptures. But the large printing area combined with the ability to create stone objects could be very interesting for archaeologists. They could for example rebuild stone artefacts with this printer. To get even better surfaces finishes Desamanera creates their own finishing technique. With this technique it is possible to give the surfaces different colours – even glow in the dark colour is possible.
