DigiFabster relies on AI: New solution for efficient RFQ management

DigiFabster has developed a new AI-supported tool that facilitates the processing of requests for quotations (RFQs). Especially in industries such as sheet metal processing, machining and additive manufacturing, the “AI Quote Agent” could make processes more efficient and save time.

RFQs, in which customers send drawings and requirements, are among the most time-consuming tasks in manufacturing companies. Sorting CAD files, interpreting requirements and creating accurate quotes take up valuable time. This is exactly where DigiFabster’s new solution comes in.

The AI Quote Agent connects directly to a company’s email inbox and takes over key steps in the quotation process. The system reads RFQ emails, extracts relevant details and automatically loads associated CAD files into the platform. It then suggests materials, machines and production technologies that match the company’s capacities. A fully prepared draft quote is then ready for final review.

The Quote Agent can currently recognize materials, machines and quantities and automatically generate items for quotes. Future updates are expected to bring additional functions, such as the consideration of tolerances or priorities as well as the central management of e-mail inquiries without CAD attachments.

DigiFabster takes a CAD-geometry-driven approach to creating quotations. Unlike platforms that are based on average values or predefined data sets, the solution analyzes the geometry of each individual component. This enables more precise quotations that are adapted to the specific design, material and machining requirements.

The security of sensitive data is a top priority. DigiFabster uses AWS and ITAR-compliant GovCloud servers to securely store RFQ data. This ensures the highest standards, especially for regulated projects.

The AI Quote Agent is currently in the beta phase. Interested companies can register for early access and test the solution.
