German medical technology manufacturer DREVE is joining forces with Taiwanese company Phrozen to start production of 3D printers in Germany. This marks the first time that the Asian manufacturer’s devices will be produced in Europe. The cooperation aims to strengthen technology transfer, ensure regional quality standards, and expand the European market in the long term.
Phrozen is known for its resin-based LCD 3D printers, which are primarily used in dental and model making. Thanks to the partnership with DREVE, production will now take place in Germany. According to both companies, the new production line meets all European quality and safety standards. In addition to final assembly, the site will also include extensive testing and calibration processes to ensure consistent printing accuracy.
Another component of the cooperation is the establishment of a European service and repair center under the management of DREVE. Customers will benefit from shorter delivery and repair times, as devices and spare parts will be available within the EU in the future. For professional users in laboratories or clinics, this means greater operational reliability and less downtime.
Particular attention is being paid to medical technology applications. DREVE has been developing materials and devices for 3D printing of dental and hearing aid components for many years. Together with Phrozen, the aim is now to develop printing systems that are specifically tailored to medical requirements. The aim is to achieve more precise printing results, optimized biocompatibility, and better integration into existing digital workflows.
DREVE Managing Director Volker Dreve describes the cooperation as an important step toward strengthening European manufacturing expertise in the field of additive medical technology. Founded in 1949, the company is one of the established suppliers of certified medical products in Germany. Phrozen, founded in Taiwan in 2016, serves over 100,000 users worldwide and offers its own ecosystem of printers, software, and resins.
