The stock media provider Shutterstock is expanding its offering in the field of generative AI and now offers a service for the automated creation of 3D models. The service is based on NVIDIA Edify.
It focuses on two functions: the conversion of text descriptions into 3D objects (text-to-3D) and the generation of 3D models from image templates (image-to-3D). Both methods rely on a neural network that has been trained with licensed content from the Shutterstock library. This sets the service apart from other AI platforms in one key respect. It only uses copyrighted material as the basis for training.
The service can be tested here free of charge. The 3D models are available for download in GLB and USDZ formats.
