Elegoo is launching the Centauri Carbon 2 Combo, an FDM 3D printer aimed at multicolor printing and automated workflows. The price is €439. For color changes, the machine uses the CANVAS system, which automatically switches filaments and detects compatible material. According to the manufacturer, Auto Refill and tangle detection are also designed to keep print jobs running smoothly without manual intervention.
The build volume is 256 × 256 × 256 mm, and the platform measures 260 × 260 mm. Maximum nozzle temperature is 350 °C, while the heated bed reaches up to 110 °C. For filament, Elegoo lists PLA, PETG, TPU, ABS, ASA and PLA-CF as “ideal”. Under “capable”, the company includes PETG-CF, ABS-CF, ASA-CF, PET-CF, PA-CF, PET, PC and PA, among others. The printer uses 1.75 mm filament and a 0.4 mm nozzle. The extruder is a dual-gear direct-drive design, and the nozzle combines brass with hardened steel. A titanium-alloy heat break is specified.
For speed and motion performance, Elegoo states up to 500 mm/s, while recommending 250 mm/s. Default acceleration is 10,000 mm/s², with a maximum of 20,000 mm/s². The CoreXY system uses two 4260 stepper motors for the X and Y axes. An integrated die-cast aluminum frame and chassis are intended to reduce vibrations. Additional features include Auto Z-offset, active vibration compensation, and pressure-advance calibration to match extrusion flow to printhead speed.
Calibration includes 121-point auto leveling. In total, Elegoo lists 31 sensors for monitoring, including clog detection, filament runout, fan self-checks, bed overheat protection, and power-loss recovery. A built-in camera supports monitoring, timelapse, and “AI”-based detection. Operating noise is rated at up to 45 dB.
Operation is handled via a 5-inch touchscreen, with the interface also available in German. Supported input formats include STL, OBJ, 3MF, and STEP, with G-code as the output. Slicer support is listed for ElegooSlicer, Orca, and Cura. Connectivity is provided via USB and Wi-Fi; the Matrix app is intended for remote control and live viewing, while Nexprint is described as a model library with one-click integration into ElegooSlicer. The machine measures 500 × 480 × 743 mm and weighs 19.35 kg net.
