Elkem, a global leader in advanced material solutions, will present its latest developments in silicones for 3D printing at Formnext 2024 in Frankfurt. From November 19 to 22, the company will present new products from its AMSil and AMSil Silbione ranges, which have been specially developed for additive manufacturing.

Following the success of the launch of its AMSil and AMSil Silbione brands, for which Elkem received the R&D 100 Award in 2021, the company is continuing its innovation strategy. The new AMSil 20503 and AMSil Silbione 24503 product ranges offer extended application possibilities, particularly in the medical sector. These silicone formulations are characterized by longer shelf life and improved handling and are available for Liquid Deposit Molding (LDM) systems with Shore A hardnesses from ShA 10 to ShA 70.

In addition to the silicones for industrial and medical applications, Elkem is also introducing the new AMSil 92102 carrier material. This water-soluble material improves the print quality and surface finish of 3D-printed components and can be used in combination with the AMSil range. This enables complex structures and designs to be realized using 3D printing.

With these innovations, Elkem is underlining its commitment to 3D printing and its potential to contribute to a more sustainable economy. Additive manufacturing reduces waste, lowers transportation and storage costs and reduces the carbon footprint of end products. Elkem is confident that 3D printing will create new, innovative and profitable solutions on an industrial scale through digital manufacturing.

Interested professionals can find out about Elkem’s latest developments at Formnext 2024 at stand F 91 in hall 12.1 and talk to the company’s experts.
