The additive manufacturing solutions provider EOS is expanding its production and logistics capacities in the United States. With an investment of around three million US dollars, the site in Pflugerville is being expanded, while a new logistics center in Belton has begun operations. The goal is to bring the assembly of metal 3D printing systems closer to the North American market and reduce delivery times.
Specifically, the expansion includes a reorganization of existing floor space in Pflugerville to create additional capacity for the final assembly of the EOS M 290-1, M 290-2, and M 400-4 systems. The manufacturing operation is complemented by a separate area for powder handling as well as an internal mechanical workshop. According to the company, ten new positions have also been created at the site in operations, quality assurance, engineering, and commissioning.
This expansion was made possible by relocating warehouse and logistics functions to a new building in Belton with a total area of around 3,700 square meters. The central warehouse is intended to ensure greater availability of spare parts, peripherals, and system components. For customers in the United States, this means shorter response times for service and maintenance as well as greater flexibility in the delivery of complete systems.
“Our Texas expansion enables us to scale North American metal AM assembly with both precision and consistency,” said Kent Firestone, SVP of Operations, EOS North America. “From optimizing our production areas to onboarding new team members, every step has been carefully designed to accelerate turnaround times while maintaining the quality and reliability our customers expect from EOS.”
Despite the stronger presence in Texas, the main manufacturing site in Maisach remains a central part of global production. The U.S. expansion is intended as a complement to make supply chains more resilient.
“This expansion demonstrates our continued commitment to support the resurgence of American manufacturing,” said Glynn Fletcher, president of EOS North America. “This manufacturing facility is not just an investment in our own infrastructure; it is also about standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the U.S. manufacturing community to provide products and services for a superior customer experience. It demonstrates our dedication to the growing U.S. markets where our technology is in greatest demand. We fully understand the criticality that AM plays in the future of domestic manufacturing, and this expansion ensures EOS will continue to play a leading role for years to come.”
