Industrial 3D printing is increasingly expected not only to be flexible and cost-effective, but also resource-efficient. Against this backdrop, the Additive Manufacturer Green Trade Association, or AMGTA for short, has announced that EOS has expanded its previous involvement to the highest level of membership. With its new status as a Principal Member, EOS assumes a more active role in shaping the association’s strategic direction. At the same time, Björn Hannappel, Head of Sustainability at EOS, has been appointed to the AMGTA Board of Directors. The appointment takes effect on January 1, 2026.

The AMGTA sees itself as an independent, globally operating organization that brings together companies across the additive manufacturing value chain. Its aim is to evaluate and further develop the use of additive manufacturing technologies with regard to environmental compatibility, resource efficiency, and economic resilience. These aspects are playing an increasingly important role in industrial 3D printing, as additive processes are moving further into series production and their ecological impact is therefore coming more sharply into focus.

“I am thrilled to welcome EOS and Björn Hannappel to this expanded role in shaping AMGTA,” said Sherri Monroe, AMGTA Executive Director. “EOS’s elevation to Principal Member reflects both the company’s established leadership in additive manufacturing and its commitment to advancing sustainability at scale. We are also pleased to welcome Björn Hannappel to the AMGTA Board, where his expertise will strengthen our ability to deliver meaningful, industry-driven outcomes.”

As a manufacturer of metal and polymer 3D printing systems, EOS contributes extensive hands-on industrial experience. The company develops not only machines, but also materials, process parameters, and software aimed at reproducible part quality and stable processes.

“EOS exemplifies the kind of leadership the AMGTA seeks to elevate—combining technological innovation with a disciplined, outcomes-driven approach to sustainability,” said Brian Neff, AMGTA Board Chair and CEO of Sintavia. “Björn Hannappel’s appointment to the Board strengthens our collective ability to guide the additive manufacturing ecosystem toward solutions that are not only more efficient and resilient, but also economically and environmentally sound.”

“The decision to deepen our engagement with AMGTA aligns closely with EOS’s commitment to responsible innovation and sustainable industrial transformation,” said Hannappel. “Additive manufacturing is already reshaping how products are designed, produced, and delivered, and collaboration across the ecosystem is essential to realizing its full environmental and economic potential.”

Within the AMGTA, EOS aims to increasingly translate these potentials into measurable and transparent sustainability strategies, thereby advancing industrial 3D printing over the long term.
