Chinese manufacturer Eplus3D presented new developments in the field of metal 3D printing at its third global partner summit in Hangzhou. The two-day meeting also marked the company’s tenth anniversary and offered insights into current trends in additive manufacturing.
The focus was on the presentation of the EP-M4750, a metal 3D printer with powder bed fusion (PBF) technology. The system has an unusually large build space of 450 x 750 x 530 millimetres and uses a four-laser system for efficient printing of large components.
Eplus3D, which has been active in the development of PBF systems since 1993, covers both metal and plastic 3D printing with its machines. At the summit, customers, dealers and partners discussed possible applications in various industries such as automotive, aerospace and medical technology.
In addition to technical presentations, the event offered space for networking and exchanging experiences. Several partners, including FAM, Temisth and Materialise, shared their expertise on additive manufacturing technologies.
The presentation of the EP-M4750 underlines the trend towards larger build spaces in industrial 3D metal printing. The rectangular build space enables the production of particularly long components and could open up new fields of application.
