Farsoon introduced the new FS200M×2 platform

Farsoon introduced the new FS200M×2 platform to the AMEA and North America additive manufacturing market for commercial orders. As a new addition to our medium-sized metal LPBF portfolio, the FS200M×2 is equipped with a versatile build volume of 425 x 230 x 300 mm and a powerful dual 500-watt laser configuration. The FS200M×2 is ideal for medium to high volume metal series production and prototypes with fast manufacturing turn-overs rates, versatility, and impressive ROI.

Equipped with the powerful dual-laser scanning technology and advanced calibration algorithms, the FS200M×2 offers one of the highest build volume rates in its class. The rectangular build platform is well suited for the dual 500-watt laser configuration; with advanced calibration algorithms precisely controlling both lasers’ operations, achieving an intelligent distribution of each laser’s uptime for an overall improved build efficiency; and a softened laser overlapping area for more uniformed part properties.

“FARSOON’S FS200M IS A HIGH-VALUE PROPOSITION METAL SYSTEM IN PURSUIT OF PRODUCTIVITY, COST-EFFICIENCY AND EASE OF USE FOR A WIDE RANGE OF INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS. THE RECTANGULAR BUILD CHAMBER IS WELL SUITED FOR FABRICATION OF LARGE PARTS WHICH FAVOR ONE AXIS, SUCH AS APPLICATIONS IN AEROSPACE, AUTOMOTIVE AND TOOLING.” SAYS DON XU, DIRECTOR OF FARSOON GLOBAL BUSINESS GROUP AND MANAGING DIRECTOR OF FARSOON AMERICAS CORP.

Like all Farsoon machines, the FS200M×2 is a truly open platform offering a high degree of control over the machine, enabling precise tailoring of processing parameters. To improve productivity, even more, the FS200M×2 is able to integrate multiple scanning strategies of different layer thicknesses in a single build according to the application’s needs.

High-value Proposition Platform
The FS200M×2 is equipped with an integrated, two-stage filter module, and featured a powerful back-flush function to ensure filter life and repeatable part quality. Depending on the material used, the secondary filtration system can last for approx. 1500 hours, which significantly helps reduce the cost of filter changes. The advanced gas flow layout, as well as the unique re-coater blade design, helps achieve uniform part properties throughout the build platform.

As part of its quality control package, the FS200M×2 is equipped with in-chamber cameras which are used to monitor and record each layer. Besides logging the layer-to-layer data, the cameras also enable Farsoon’s real-time recoat monitoring feature. This feature records and analyzes each recoat layer in real-time, if a short feed or build error is detected the software will automatically recoat or pause the build to ensure build quality.

Ease of use
The FS200M×2 features a high-efficiency top-feed powder system. Once the powder level in the container runs low, the equipped sensor will release a message for a refill. The powder refill unit can be easily docked, enabling a quick refill of the material without disturbing the build process. The material supply volume can be precisely controlled by the sensor as well.

Compact machine design is also a highlight of the FS200M. The machine features a footprint of only 3.48 square meters with designated operational access from only front and right; the build platform resides at the same height as the operator, at a closer distance – this allows for more ergonomic user operations for in chamber processes such as build plate install and removal.

The FS200M×2 is now open for early adopter program applications. Customers interested are welcome to visit Farsoon at the Rapid+TCT.
