Fashion chain Mango invests in sustainable 3D printing for furniture

The fashion chain Mango has announced an investment in the start-up Ziknes. The aim is to develop a 3D printing platform for sustainable furniture production based on recycled materials.

Founded in 2021, Ziknes combines additive manufacturing methods with robotics. The aim is to make manufacturing processes resource-saving and efficient.

Ziknes already cooperated with metal 3D printing specialists last year to build its own multi-material printing platform. Now, the partnership with Mango aims to further develop the technology specifically for furniture.

According to Mango, the investment will enable Ziknes to benefit from its expertise in product design and the scaling of business models. This is the fashion chain’s fifth investment of this kind since 2022.

Using 3D printing to produce a variety of sustainable furniture from recycled plastics is a promising field of application. Mango is testing an innovative approach in the field of interior design.
