FELIXprinters Releases New Tec 4 3D printer

FELIXprinters has announced the launch of the FELIX Tec 4. The Tec 4, which is the successor of the FELIX 3, is available in single or dual extruder and contains many new features improving reliability and ease of use. Great news for current FELIX owners: upgrade kits are available too, so they also can benefit from the latest technology. The Tec 4 3D printers, DIY kits and upgrade kits will be shown at the TCT Show next week. Pre-orders can be placed from today.

Creating value for new and existing customers
Months before starting the process of development, the FELIXprinters team has spent many hours exchanging ideas with a selection of partners, resellers and end-users. “We wanted to release a product which contains features that truly have value for our existing but also our future customers. We have learned a lot during the time we have spent on talking about possible features and technologies and I think we have developed a 3D printer with great potential.” – Says Guillaume Feliksdal, Head of Engineering department at FELIXprinters.

Technology to rely on
One of the biggest improvements to get the Tec 4 up and running within minutes, is the semi-automatic calibration. A high sensitivity sensor is able to detect an unbalanced build plate and the printer can adjust itself to this unbalance, providing a perfect first print layer. Great new feature to improve the 3D printing experience, is the removable flexible build plate. Once a print is finished, the plate can be taken off and bended and the 3D print will pop-off from the build plate. Other features contain: metal hot-ends, LED lights, better cooling and improved wiring.

Focus on ease of use
Main focus for the next upgrade was to make the whole process of 3D printing from beginning to end a lot easier. New 3D printing users sometimes struggle to operate the machines properly. FELIXprinters’ aim with the Tec 4 is to provide new customers with the same smooth and efficient 3D printing experience as experienced users. Also for existing customers the FELIX Tec 4 is a significant improvement.

Upgradability
Upgradability has been part of FELIXprinters’ DNA since day one. Owners of the predecessor of the FELIX Tec 4, can easily upgrade their model to the Tec 4 themselves with the DIY upgrade kits. Another service FELIXprinters offers, is the upgrade service: an expert at FELIXprinters will install the desired upgrade onto the FELIX 3D printer.

History of the Tec Series
The history of the current Tec 4 goes back to 2011, when the FELIX 1.0 was released. Over the years updates for the 1.0 were released – allowing FELIX owners to benefit from new developments. During these updates the Tec Series (FELIX 2.0) has been awarded by Make Magazine with the Surprise Hit of 2014.

Live at the TCT Show
FELIXprinters is showcasing the FELIX Tec 4 for the first time at the forthcoming TCT Show, which is held 26-28 September 2017. Visitors are able to watch the Tec 4 live in action at stand J26. Also a variety of well-made 3D printed objects made on the Tec 4 will be displayed.
