Financing provider GreatAmerica enters the 3D printing market

GreatAmerica Financial Services is expanding its business area to include additive manufacturing. The company, which to date has primarily offered financing and leasing solutions for various industries, plans to provide targeted financing solutions to manufacturers and service providers in the 3D printing sector. To drive this expansion, GreatAmerica has appointed Dan Kehr as Senior Director of the Specialty Markets Group. Kehr has more than ten years of experience in the finance industry and brings deep knowledge of additive manufacturing.

With the increasing use of 3D printing in industrial applications, the demand for financing options for production equipment, materials and related services is growing. Many companies are faced with the challenge of investing in new manufacturing technologies without having to bear high capital costs immediately. GreatAmerica sees an opportunity here to offer flexible financing models that are attractive to 3D printer manufacturers as well as their distribution partners and end customers.

“GreatAmerica is excited to support additive manufacturing OEMs, channel partners, and end-users in this dynamic market. Our proven platform and funding capabilities align well with the industry needs,” said Brian Bjella, group president, Specialty Markets Group, GreatAmerica Financial Servies. “GreatAmerica continues to invest strategically in our future to support originations growth in both existing and new markets. We are excited to integrate Dan’s experience and market knowledge into our customer focused and team-based environment.”

GreatAmerica’s entry into additive manufacturing is a response to the growing importance of this technology in industrial production. The provision of customized financing solutions could help to further promote the spread of 3D printing in various industries.
