German additive manufacturing service provider FKM Additive has installed one of the first units of the new VX1000HSS high-performance sinter printer from voxeljet. With this step, the company is strengthening its position as a provider of high-volume polymer 3D manufacturing.
FKM Additive, founded in 1994 and based in Biedenkopf, is one of the leading providers of additive manufacturing services in Europe. The company has extensive expertise in selective laser sintering (SLS) and metal 3D printing, which it uses to produce precise and complex components for customers in industries such as automotive, aerospace, medical technology and consumer goods.
The VX1000HSS is specially designed for the high-volume production of functional polymer components. With voxeljet’s high-speed sintering (HSS) technology, the printer can process significantly larger build volumes at high speed and efficiency. These features make it ideal for industries that require large quantities of end products without having to compromise on accuracy and quality.
HSS technology uses infrared light to selectively sinter polymer powder – similar to SLS processes, but in a much shorter time. This process enables the cost-effective production of robust end products with high efficiency.
