The Formnext trade fair for additive manufacturing in Frankfurt has ended with a record number of visitors. According to organizer Mesago, around 33,000 trade visitors attended the showcase of innovations in the 3D printing industry. The focus was primarily on more mature technologies for industrial use.
As Mesago announced in a summary, Formnext was able to increase visitor numbers by more than 10 percent compared to the previous year. A new record was also set with 859 exhibitors. According to the organizers, the trade fair reflected the trend towards a “transformation towards a more digital, more efficient and more sustainable industry”.
More and more manufacturers presented 3D printers and services that are specifically suitable for integration into industrial production. In both the plastics and metal sectors, companies presented systems for the series production of larger components. New processes such as nano printing were also on show.
According to Mesago manager Sascha F. Wenzler, Formnext impressively demonstrated the progress made in 3D printing and its increasing maturity for use in industrial practice. The broad supporting program was dedicated to a wide range of user industries and spanned the spectrum of sustainability.
Mesago has already announced the tenth edition of Formnext for next year. The trade fair for additive manufacturing will then take place again in Frankfurt from November 19 to 22, 2024. At the same time, Mesago is pushing ahead with internationalization with offshoots in China, Japan, the USA and other countries.
