Formnext 2024, one of the leading trade fairs for additive manufacturing and modern production technologies, took place in Frankfurt am Main from November 19 to 22. With over 864 exhibitors and 34,404 visitors from 48 countries, it was one of the largest trade fairs of its kind.
A central focus was on expanding the areas of application for additive manufacturing. In addition to new technologies, exhibitors presented specialized systems for automation and material recycling. The automotive, aviation and medical technology industries took the opportunity to present solutions that can optimize existing production processes. The construction and packaging industries also showed growing interest in additive manufacturing, as it offers customized and resource-saving approaches.
One of the most important developments was the increasing integration of sustainable concepts. For example, some exhibitors presented booths made from recycled materials, while others showcased systems for the reprocessing of printing materials.
Numerous world premieres and special shows rounded off the extensive program. Innovative approaches such as Axolotl Biosciences for its advances in bioprinting technology and Siemens for pioneering design in additive manufacturing were among those honored.
The next Formnext will take place from November 18 to 21, 2025 and is expected to further advance developments in the industry.
