At Formnext 2025, AM Solutions and LuxYours are announcing a strategic partnership for the post-processing of plastic components produced by 3D printing. AM Solutions, a brand of Rösler Oberflächentechnik GmbH, is taking a stake in the Planegg-based company LuxYours as part of the cooperation. The goal is to establish chemical smoothing as a fixed element in industrial post-processing workflows, combining existing expertise in mechanical engineering and surface treatment with a specialized process.
With its patented “Multi Purpose Smoothing” (MPS) process, LuxYours contributes a physico-chemical technology designed for thermoplastic polymers from various additive processes, including SLS, MJF, HSS, SAF, AKF and FDM. In a controlled process step, rough, porous surfaces are smoothed without blurring sharp edges, markings or fine functional geometries. According to LuxYours, this also makes it possible to selectively treat internal channels and hard-to-reach areas of defined components, which is particularly relevant for fluidic applications or parts with complex hollow structures.
“By taking a stake in LuxYours, we are sending a clear signal about the strategic relevance and long-term perspective of this partnership. We are convinced that the patented Multi Purpose Smoothing process and the resulting part quality set new standards, deliver real added value for our customers and significantly expand our unique portfolio in the post-processing sector – there is currently no comparable offering on the market with this technological breadth and depth,” emphasizes Stephan Rösler, Managing Partner of Rösler Oberflächentechnik GmbH.
The two companies plan to showcase concrete use cases and sample parts at Formnext 2025 in Frankfurt: AM Solutions at booth E41 and LuxYours directly opposite at booth E39 in Hall 11.1. For users in industries such as automotive, consumer goods and medical technology, this creates an option to bring additively manufactured plastic components closer to injection-molded series parts in terms of feel, appearance and functionality, without sacrificing the advantages of design for additive manufacturing.
