Following its 2024 debut, the SWISS Pavilion will return to Formnext 2025 (November 18–21) with nine exhibitors across 90 square meters. The joint stand—organized by Messe Luzern in collaboration with the Swiss Additive Manufacturing Group (SAMG) of Swissmem—aims to create visibility along the entire additive manufacturing value chain, from design and simulation through production to post-processing. The organizers emphasize that in-person exchange is a central goal to kick-start projects with domestic and international partners.

In terms of content, the companies cover a broad spectrum. On the production side, they will showcase systems and services for metal and polymer processing, including compact, powder-bed metal 3D printers for an industrial entry point as well as contract manufacturing for prototypes and small series. Research institutions will present materials and process developments, such as non-planar 5-axis extrusion printing of polymers and a new foaming process in 3D printing for targeted density and stiffness distribution. On the materials side, an AM competence center will present applications for space and motorsport, including a high-strength aluminum alloy (A³-4AM) tailored for laser powder bed fusion.

On the software side, CAD-integrated geometry generators take center stage, based on adaptive minimal surfaces that address topology, support structures, and part stiffness in a single step. Also relevant for operators are end-to-end solutions for the process chain: from data checks and exposure to subtractive and surface finishing. A tooling manufacturer will demonstrate equipment and methods specifically tailored to the post-processing of additive parts. Medical technology examples—dental, implants, instruments—illustrate regulatory-robust implementation of design transfer, validation, and series production.

An open apéro is announced for the Wednesday of the show, offering visitors easy access to projects and use cases. The SWISS Pavilion thus positions itself as a point of contact for decision-makers who evaluate AM technology not in isolation, but as a scalable production chain spanning material, machine, software, and quality assurance.
