Formnext + PM South China 2024: Platform for additive manufacturing and powder metallurgy

In December last year, the Chinese government published a report categorizing additive manufacturing (AM) and powder metallurgy as “strategic emerging industries” in the country. In this context, Formnext + PM South China will return to the Shenzhen World Exhibition and Convention Center from August 28 to 30, 2024.

The event will bring together Chinese and international companies in the fields of additive manufacturing, powder metallurgy and advanced ceramics, creating new business opportunities and collaborations. These advanced manufacturing technologies are experiencing increasing global acceptance as their applications expand in industries such as automotive, aerospace, defense, dentistry and electronics. China’s additive manufacturing industry in particular has seen significant growth under this trend, expanding by almost 30% between 2015 and 2022.

This market momentum also has implications for powder metallurgy, which, like metal AM, relies on metal powder as a feedstock. With the proliferation of metal AM systems, the demand for high-quality metal powders is increasing, which in turn is driving advances in material development and production methods in these complementary supply chains.

In 2024, Formnext + PM South China will once again unite these interconnected fields and provide a central platform for industry professionals to discover new solutions, forge partnerships and drive technological advancements. The event enjoys a growing reputation as a center for innovation and collaboration in the industry.

High-caliber exhibitors include both domestic and international companies showcasing a wide range of equipment, materials, software, services and post-processing solutions. In the field of additive manufacturing, exhibitors include ADDDLIT, Addireen 3D, Avimetal AM, Bright Laser, Cerawei and EASYMFG. Powder metallurgy and advanced ceramics will be represented by companies such as Alcera, Cfine Machinery and Guci.

In addition to the exhibition, Formnext + PM South China 2024 will feature a diverse supporting programme that will provide attendees with deeper insights into specialized areas of manufacturing technology and promote information exchange. These sessions will bring together industry experts and leading companies to present their latest research findings, discuss new applications and introduce new product offerings.

Formnext + PM South China is jointly organized by Guangzhou Guangya Messe Frankfurt Co Ltd and Uniris Exhibition Shanghai Co Ltd. The show is part of a series of international events in the manufacturing technologies and components cluster organized by Messe Frankfurt. Other events in this cluster include Formnext in Frankfurt, Asiamold Select in Shenzhen and Guangzhou and Formnext Forum Tokyo.
