Formnext welcomes significantly more exhibitors this year and increases exhibition space

After the promising restart as a presence trade fair last year, Formnext continues its successful development in 2022: The trade fair for additive manufacturing and modern industrial production can already report 690 exhibitors and a booked gross area of over 50,000 m².

This means that Formnext has already exceeded the final number of exhibitors of Formnext 2021 months before the start of the trade fair, as well as increasing the gross area by more than 34%. The very high internationality of 59 % is also impressive. At the same time, Formnext 2022 promises an extensive supporting program with familiar and new highlights, in which this year’s partner country France plays a central role.

Exhibitors already registered include the global elite of additive manufacturing with companies such as 3D Systems, Additive Industries, AddUp, Arburg, BigRep, Carbon, Desktop Metal, DMG Mori, Dyemansion, EOS, Evonik, Farsoon, Formlabs, GE Additive, HP, Keyence, Markforged, Materialise, Renishaw, Ricoh, Siemens, Sisma, SLM Solutions Group, Stratasys, Trumpf, Voxeljet, Xerox, XJet and Zeiss. In addition, numerous well-known international groups will showcase their solutions along the entire process chain, including BASF, Covestro, Evonik, GKN Sinter Metals Components, Höganäs, Linde, Mitsubishi Chemical, Oerlikon, Sandvik and many more.

“This successful development shows that exhibitors continue to see Formnext as the most important industry meeting place and extremely valuable trade show platform, and underscores that for many companies in the AM industry, face-to-face meetings are indispensable for successfully doing business, advancing developments or finding partners and investors,” said Sascha F. Wenzler, Vice President Formnext at the organizer Mesago Messe Frankfurt GmbH.

Attractive early booking discount for trade fair visitors

The ticket store is already available to trade fair visitors so that they can plan their visit to the trade fair in good time. Early bookers can benefit from significantly discounted ticket prices up to and including 15.10.2022. In line with Deutsche Bahn’s summer offer, a 9-euro ticket is also available for schoolchildren and students.

Partner country France: versatile, innovative and broad-based

France is one of the most important countries in Europe for additive manufacturing and has been strongly represented at Formnext for years. This year, more than 30 French companies, associations and research institutions will be represented at Formnext and will present their range of services to the international trade audience.

The French AM industry will be presenting a very diverse portfolio of products and services along the entire process chain. Among them are internationally established AM giants such as Addup, numerous very innovative young companies such as Lynxter, Pollen AM and others, as well as renowned industrial companies such as Arkema, BINC Industries, Constellium, Granges, for which additive manufacturing is playing an increasingly important role. In France, not only the strong aerospace and automotive industries offer promising application fields for additive manufacturing, but also construction and architecture, viticulture, medicine and many more. With France Additive, Cimes, CCI Nouvelle- Aquitaine and the Carnot network for additive manufacturing, French partners and important AM associations, regions and research institutions will also present themselves at Formnext.

At Formnext 2022, Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2022, will be dedicated to France as a partner country, including partner presentations by Cimes and France Additive, a visit by a French delegation and other events. A further foretaste of Formnext will also be provided by an industry event on Sept. 22, 2022, in Grenoble, hosted by Cimes, at which Formnext will be a partner and will invite visitors to a networking reception afterwards.

Varied supporting program

Formnext will be held in Halls 11 and 12, and thus in the most modern part of the Frankfurt exhibition center. In the diverse supporting program, already established events will be continued and expanded. For example, the Start-up Challenge, which honors innovative and viable business ideas from young companies, will be held for the eighth time. The exhibitors in the Start-up Area will present themselves in short rounds of presentations on the AM4U stage, and there will also be exciting contributions on the subject of investment and funding. The purmundus challenge ideas competition will celebrate its 10th anniversary with a reception and a special “Best of 10 Years” show.

In addition to the established Discover3Dprinting seminars (in German and English), visitors to Formnext 2022 will be able to find out about the wide range of career opportunities in the AM industry, for example, on the AM4U platform.

Moreover, the high-quality conference program organized by Content Partner TCT will also address current trends and developments in additive manufacturing in 2022. The VDMA will present a special show featuring valuable AM applications from the world of mechanical engineering, and will provide further insights into this with presentations on the AM4U stage.

The BE-AM special show will demonstrate the advanced developments of the increasingly important topic of 3D printing in the construction industry, while at the same time the BE-AM conference will present numerous backgrounds and future developments in this field. The topic of standards and norms, which is important for the entire AM industry and users, will once again be discussed by experts and decision-makers from all over the world at the renowned ASTM Standards Forum on the day before the trade show (Nov. 14, 2022).
