Freemelt has received an order from a customer in the UK to validate the company’s proprietary E-PBF (Electron Powder Bed Fusion) technology for the production of 3D printed tungsten components. The customer is a leading player in research and innovation in the fields of nuclear energy, sustainable materials and advanced manufacturing technologies.

Freemelt’s CEO Daniel Gidlund comments: Thanks to our successful progress in printing tungsten and collaborations with customers like UKAEA (United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority), it is rewarding that another customer in the United Kingdom has decided to validate Freemelt’s E-PBF technology for tungsten manufacturing. This order further strengthens our position within the UK additive manufacturing community, particularly in tungsten applications. It also underscores the unique capabilities of our technology to efficiently process challenging materials with the highest material quality.”

Freemelt’s E-PBF technology enables the precise and efficient production of complex tungsten parts used in demanding applications such as nuclear energy and aerospace. Tungsten is characterized by its high melting temperature and strength, making it an indispensable material in these industries. The validation by the new customer will further expand the application possibilities of additively manufactured tungsten components and underline their application potential.

With this order, Freemelt consolidates its position as a provider of advanced solutions for the additive manufacturing of metals. The continuous development of E-PBF technology enables the company to meet the increasing demands of the industry and provide innovative solutions for complex manufacturing processes.
