As part of her yearly CeBIT tour, Chancellor Angela Merkel stopped by at the booth of the German manufacturer of large-scale 3D printers, BigRep.

Following a presentation of the third generation BigRep ONE 3D printer, Merkel also looked at various applications for this technology.

“We are very proud that we were able to welcome Chancellor Angela Merkel to our stand at CeBIT,” BigRep CEO René Gurka said. “She could get an idea of the opportunities and potential offered by large-scale 3D printing with respect to the digitalisation of the local economy. Current studies conclude that there is still a great need to catch up on the digitalisation and digital transformation of the German economy. Our goal is to enable our 3D printing solutions to address this opportunity and to be a significant contributor.”
