The Heart of the New Ira3D Printer: The Print-Head

Ira3D is preparing the launch of Poetry4.In November 2016 the new 3D printer with FLD technology will make its debut on the market.

The Print-head
If the mechanics, electronics and motors of a 3D printer determine performance and accuracy, the heart of the devices, influencing the precision and detail of prints and the robustness of the finished model, is the print-head system.

The first of the innovations introduced by Poetry is called SNAP, the print-head at the technological heart of the new 3D printer. It is an all-round professional engineering advancement with SNAP being crucial to performance and reliability in the management of Accuracy and Detail.

In terms of structural mechanics, it enables high-performance stability and excellent damping of vibrations that the extruders are continuously subjected to.

In terms of thermodynamics, components were selected by carefully studying the actual temperatures reached during printing. SNAP can handle up to a maximum temperature of 340°.

New print-head design: not only more functional, practical and efficient, it now comes with new bodywork, giving the printer an aggressive and modern appearance perfectly in harmony with the new print-head design.

The new bodywork consists of:

Main Fixing System
A central block that penetrates the aluminium head, guaranteeing its fixing.

Upper Cover
A new aesthetic and functional element that fulfils three aims:

  • To give a new aggressive and attractive look to the print-head.
  • To act as manifold between the print-head and the cable duct.
  • To orient in a practical and precise way the two Teflon tubes directly on the radiator, thanks to two rings harmoniously integrated into the structure.

Air Conveyor
A new conveyor system with an extremely minimal yet powerful turbine that precisely directs the airflow to the predetermined point and is almost totally hidden from view below the head, allowing the realization of more precise details and undercuts.

Radiator-Extruder-Nozzle Fixing Plate
A simple front-resistant plate able to withstand the high printing temperatures and complementing the new external skeleton. Simplifies the removal of the extruders for a quick kit change, now possible in just a few minutes. The two extruders have a fixed position and so it is no longer necessary to correct the setup of the height of the second extruder. Now double-filament prints are simpler and more efficient for experts and novices alike.

Thanks to SNAP, many features have been added and improved:

2 Extruders, 2 Materials, 2 Colours:

  • Redesigned SSS system
  • Precision Print Soluble Support +8%
  • Reliable Print Soluble Support +27%
  • Easily replaceable nozzles in six different sizes
  • SNAP, Poetry4 detail.

Customers who have previously purchased a Poetry Infinity can upgrade to Poetry4 at a special price.

The good news for all Poetry Infinity owners is that all the innovations can be retrofitted! You can therefore easily upgrade your Poetry Infinity printer to the higher standard Poetry4 to be launched for pre-orders in November.
