At Formnext 2024, HoliMaker presented its manual injection molding machine HoliPress to a broad specialist audience. The joint stand with Priomold attracted numerous interested visitors with live demonstrations and innovative applications.
According to the manufacturer, the HoliPress impresses with its ease of use and flexibility. With a heating temperature of up to 320 °C and a variable injection volume of 16 or 38 cm³, the machine is suitable for a wide range of materials. In addition to standard plastics such as polypropylene and TPE, glass fiber-reinforced high-performance polymers can also be processed. One highlight is the fast material changeover, which takes just a few minutes thanks to the special cleaning granulate.
The HoliPress is particularly interesting for development departments and training centers. By using 3D-printed tools, such as those made of SLA-Rigid 10K Resin from Formlabs, prototypes similar to series production can be produced within a very short time. This not only offers advantages for small quantities and rapid iterations, but also significantly reduces development costs. Ideas can be turned into tangible components within 24 hours.
Another area of application is in the education sector. Schools and universities can use HoliPress to teach students practical skills in plastics processing. From CAD design and tool manufacture to the production of components, students gain a comprehensive insight into modern manufacturing techniques. The ability to shred recycled plastics such as bottle caps using the integrated plastic grinder and use them in new projects is a particularly positive feature.
Thanks to its modular design and maintenance-friendly construction, the HoliPress is durable and versatile. It offers material manufacturers and recyclate producers a platform for testing, while companies with small production runs can find a cost-effective solution.
