Houses from the 3D printer: Mighty Buildings is for sale

Mighty Buildings, a company specializing in construction 3D printing and known for energy-efficient prefabricated homes, has announced it is for sale. The Oakland, California-based company is working with Rock Creek Advisors, a New Jersey-based financial advisory firm, to handle the sale process.

Jennifer A. Farley, Chief People, Legal & Business Operations Officer of Mighty Buildings, made the announcement in a LinkedIn post. She described the sale as an opportunity for investors to advance sustainable construction. According to Rock Creek Advisors, Mighty Buildings offers great potential to meet the growing demand in the global housing market with its innovative approaches. The offer period for interested parties ends on February 14, 2025, and while cash offers are preferred, other forms of payment will also be considered. Potential buyers will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement to gain access to further company information.

The announcement comes at a time of significant change in the industry. For example, ICON, a leader in 3D-printed homes, has announced plans to cut 25 percent of its workforce by March 2025. At the same time, Diamond Age, another player, is liquidating its assets.
