HP refines AM strategy at Formnext 2025

HP is using Formnext 2025 in Frankfurt to sharpen its strategy for industrial additive manufacturing and to give media representatives a structured look behind the scenes. As part of a press lunch, representatives of the HP Additive Manufacturing (AM) division plan to explain upcoming product innovations, collaborations and roadmaps, and to provide an outlook on the next expansion stage of their Multi Jet Fusion and Metal Jet platforms.

The company points out that it has been active in the additive manufacturing environment for more than ten years and is using this foundation to further expand the industrial use of 3D printing. According to HP, the focus of its Formnext presence is on new materials, digital manufacturing initiatives and systems that are intended to enable higher productivity in series-production environments.

One focus of the press lunch is the new HP Additive Manufacturing Network (AMN). The program is intended to serve as a data-driven framework to support part manufacturers with monitoring, benchmarking and incentive mechanisms. Service providers will be evaluated on the basis of their process metrics and capabilities and can qualify for more complex jobs through documented performance data. In parallel, HP is working on improving material performance in the Multi Jet Fusion portfolio in order to further reduce the cost per part in high-volume applications.

With regard to metal 3D printing, HP is announcing additional material qualifications and partnerships around its Metal Jet technology, which are intended to address applications in aerospace, power generation and electronics.

Together with AJ Strandquist, CEO of Würth Additive Group, Minec also plans to use the press lunch to discuss how digital manufacturing and locally oriented production networks are changing traditional supply chains. For trade visitors to Formnext, guided booth tours and one-on-one meetings with the global HP AM leadership team are also planned in order to discuss use cases, integration paths into existing factory IT and future roadmap steps in detail.
