iGo3D, European reseller and distributor of desktop 3D printing equipment, announced that it has acquired GetReady4 3D, the brand and project co-founded by Diogo Quental and Nadia Yaakoubi with the goal to contribute to 3D printing literacy.
Since its start in 2013, iGo3D focus has been put on identifying, distributing and reselling the best 3D printing hardware, software and materials. In the end of Q2, however, already with Diogo Quental assuming the role of CEO of iGo3D, it was decided to take a step further and also contribute to the education about 3D printing technology. As a result, a Learning Area was created in iGo3D, being Nadia Yaakoubi chosen as a co-coordinator.
“With both co-founders of GetReady4 3D working for iGo3D it seemed natural to merge the efforts of both companies at some point “, said Tobias Redlin, co-founder and managing director of iGo3D. “GetReady4 3D focus was on contributing 3D printing literacy, exactly what we wanted to add to iGo3D. The decision to acquire the project was logical. We expect that we can leverage GetReady4 3D work in two new areas that we are preparing: iBS, the iGo3D area for Business Solutions; and the coming iGo3D Education Programme.”
GetReady4 3D activity will be kept pretty much the same: sharing knowledge about 3D printing in their website and social media channels, and promoting the 3D Printing online course created by the company in collaboration with SABE online. The exception is that, gradually, content in German will be added to the website.
