Interspectral consolidates quality data: AM Explorer Suite for metal 3D printing introduced

Interspectral is expanding its portfolio for data-driven additive manufacturing with the AM Explorer Suite. The modular software is aimed at operators of metal 3D printing systems and is designed to bring quality assurance, process monitoring and series release together in a shared data environment. The focus is on workflows on laser powder bed systems, where large volumes of data from machine logs, sensors and imaging are generated.

At the heart of the suite is a continuous data stream from the build job through to final inspection. The QUALIFY module primarily addresses downstream analysis: it links machine data, sensor data and simulation results to create a digital twin of the build job. Through 3D visualization and AI-supported evaluations, deviations in the part or process history can be traced, including automated reports for documentation and audit trails. This reduces the share of manual inspections while enabling the establishment of repeatable inspection plans.

“With the AM Explorer Suite, we are giving manufacturers a complete view of their process and part quality from data to decision,” said Isabelle Hachette, CEO of Interspectral. “It’s a major step toward data-driven metal AM production.”

DETECT starts earlier in the chain and focuses on automatic defect detection. Based on transformer-based AI models, layer images, camera streams and other signals are examined for anomalies. The software is intended to reduce false alarms while improving defect traceability by marking anomalies per layer and per part.

MONITOR is responsible for ongoing production. The module reads process parameters in real time, presents key figures in dashboards and issues warnings when thresholds are violated. Production managers thus gain a live view of “build health” and can stop or adjust jobs before scrap is produced.

With ENTERPRISE, Interspectral ultimately targets operators of larger machine fleets. The platform connects monitoring, detection and qualification across multiple systems and locations in order to map consistent quality standards and scalable release processes.
