Surely every reader of 3Printr.com has seen the work of Jose Fernandez and his company Ironhead Studio, but didn’t noticed it as his.
Jose Fernandez worked on costumes like helmets and masks for movies like Alien III, the old Batman movies (Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer, Georg Clooney), Batman vs. Superman, Spiderman, Marvel´s Thor and Avengers, Tron: Legacy, Daft Punk´s helmets and many more.

For many of his works Jose has to sculpt with his hands. Which works perfect but more and more of his works come from digital models. So a growing number of movie props come out of 3D printers.
For many years SLA 3D printers were used to make moulds because the materials that can be used are to fragile. But with the use of SLS 3D printers more rigid materials like nylon can be used. So the moulding process can be skipped and more time can be used on post processing.
