Chinese startup KOKONI has unveiled the KOKONI EC2, a beginner-friendly smart 3D printer. The EC2 is aimed at makers and families and costs $299.
The EC2 offers access to a 3D model gallery with over 2000 different designs and weekly updates. KOKONI says it has AI design features that allow non-professionals to make their own creations without software knowledge. A built-in camera allows time-lapse photography and print monitoring. The improved print head enables faster printing of simple models in under 20 minutes.
The EC2 is controlled via the KOKONI 3D APP, which covers the entire printing workflow. The app includes AI-generated models, simplified printing scenarios and a model gallery.
The 3D printer is very compact, measuring 189 x 302 x 231 mm, and therefore has an installation space of only 100 x 100 x 60 mm. Printing speed is specified at 100 mm/s and PLA is used as the printing material.
