A class action lawsuit has been filed against 3D printing specialist 3D Systems Corporation, alleging that the company misled investors about key business developments between August 13, 2024, and May 12, 2025. The lawsuit was initiated by the U.S.-based law firm Rosen Law Firm, which focuses on securities law and representing shareholder interests.
At the core of the allegations is an allegedly inaccurate portrayal of the company’s financial situation, particularly regarding the real impact of declining customer orders. According to the complaint, 3D Systems downplayed the effects on revenue and business performance while overstating its resilience under challenging market conditions. In addition, the company is accused of failing to sufficiently disclose changes to milestone criteria in its partnership with United Therapeutics related to the regenerative medicine program. These changes, the suit claims, could have had a negative impact on expected revenue from that area.
Following the disclosure of these details, 3D Systems’ stock price declined. Investors who purchased shares during the specified period may therefore have incurred financial losses.
For 3D Systems—an established player in additive manufacturing and digital production solutions—the lawsuit raises concerns about transparency toward investors and the quality of internal reporting. The outcome of the proceedings is likely to be relevant not only for affected shareholders but also for future regulatory assessments of similar business models within the additive manufacturing sector. The company had not issued a statement at the time of publication.
