Dutch 3D printer manufacturer Leapfrog launches a brand new device – the BOLT. With this 3D printer, the company intends to keep pushing the market and expectancy of what a 3D printer should do.
The BOLT 3D printer is equipped with two separated printing heads, allowing to print with two different materials. Additionally, the replicator mode and mirror mode allow for printing the same object twice at the same time, thus doubling the output. The maximum print dimensions are 32 x 33 x 20.5 cm for single extruder prints and 32 x 30 x 20.5 cm for dual extruder prints.
The closed printing area and heated bed do not only provide a more stable environment, resulting in less warping and splitting between layers. It also makes 3D printing safer due to the built in activated HEPA carbon filter that eliminates possible hazardous and toxic vapours released during the process. The hot-ends allow for temperatures of up to 360°C. While Leapfrog recommends their proprietary MAXX filaments, the BOLT 3D printer is also compatible with filaments from other manufacturers.
The multiplatform software can be accessed on the printer’s 7″ touchscreen or through the browser from your PC, smartphone or tablet using WIFI. An integrated webcam provides for a remote view and, additionally, the software displays live information on printing time, filament left and other active control possible.

“We are very excited to launch this revolutionary machine. In our vision a 3D printer should be easy to use but also have endless possibilities. The BOLT is one of the most technologically advanced machines available but at the same time it is very reliable and intuitive to operate. So the BOLT brings us closer to our vision and we think will set a new standard for high quality printers,” said Sander Adam, CEO Leapfrog 3D Printers.
The Bolt 3D printer is available for € 4,999 excl. VAT (€ 6,048.79 incl. VAT) through Leapfrog’s webshop.
