LEMKI Robotix presents 3D-printed motorhome DISCOVER 3D

The Ukrainian-German company LEMKI Robotix and Iscale3D have presented DISCOVER 3D, a 3D-printed motorhome. The motorhome is printed from an environmentally friendly composite material. The composite material consists of recycled polypropylene (7400 bottles) with the addition of glass fibers.

The team uses FGF (fused granulate fabrication) printing technology. The company has developed its own system based on the KUKA robot system and software for complete control of preparation and printing. The printable area of the machine is 3200 mm x 3200 mm x 8000 mm, which enables the production of large-format objects with high precision and thickness.

The goal of LEMKI Robotix and Iscale3D was not only to demonstrate the possibilities of 3D printing technology, but also to produce a fully functional prototype that is convenient for the consumer and suitable for mass production.

DISCOVER 3D is equipped with autonomous batteries to which solar cells can be connected, ensuring complete autonomy. As a fully-fledged “smart home”, it has all the sensors to monitor important parameters such as temperature, water level and battery charge. In this way, mobile homes can be created for any climate zone.

The model is designed for a family of three who appreciate modern technology and comfortable outdoor leisure activities. LEMKI Robotix plans to expand its 3D printing technology to make mobile homes available to a wider range of consumers.
