Lenovo Enters 3D Printing Market with XiaoXin L20

One year ago Lenovo announced that they started to develop 3D printers. Now they have unveiled their first printer, the XiaoXin L20.

You may be wondering why a big company like Lenovo wants to sell 3D printers to such a young market. The answer, according to the head of the 3D printing department, is simple: China is a big market in regards to  3D printing. Some market analyses have shown that there will be a rapid growth of 3D printing technologies in China – each year 100%. To ensure this growth, the Chinese government will support 3D printing technologies.

With the XiaoXin L20, Lenovo is the first big company that wants to sell 3D printers to customers. The released printer has a nice design; the outside looks like a modern smartphone or laptop (only bigger). The print area should be somewhere around 200x180x160mm but no exact specifications were announced. But they have announced that their printer will be very user-friendly. Therefor it will automatically calibrate the printbed and have a special temperature control.

With the XiaoXin L20, Lenovo does not only want to have an additional source of income, they want to be one of the leading companies in this fast expanding market.
