LMT Lab Day 2025: 3D Systems presents new dental 3D printing solutions

3D Systems presented several innovations in the field of digital dentistry at the LMT Lab Day 2025 in Chicago. The focus is on the NextDent 300 MultiJet 3D printer, which enables the rapid production of patient-specific, monolithic prostheses. This system combines multiple materials in one printing process and delivers fully cured dentures that can be safely handled without additional post-curing.

To support the NextDent 300, 3D Systems has developed the NextDent Jet Teeth and NextDent Jet Base materials. NextDent Jet Teeth is formulated to replicate the strength and esthetics of natural teeth, while NextDent Jet Base has shock-absorbing properties to increase fracture resistance. In combination, these materials enable the production of dentures with improved performance and aesthetics. Thanks to the company’s jetting technology, a full set of 15 rows of teeth can be printed in just nine hours, significantly speeding up the production process.

In addition to denture production, 3D Systems plans to extend the NextDent 300’s multi-material printing technology to the production of occlusal splints. These splints are particularly important for patients with nocturnal teeth grinding or sleep apnea. The company expects to add this application to its portfolio by the end of 2025.

Another focus is on the development of technologies for the direct printing of transparent aligners. 3D Systems currently supports the production of around one million patient-specific aligners per day. With the planned launch of a solution for the direct printing of aligners in 2026, the company aims to further expand this market.

“3D Systems has been a pioneer in digital dentistry for years, establishing itself as an industry leader,” said Dr. Jeffrey Graves, president & CEO, 3D Systems. “Additive manufacturing is poised for widespread adoption across all dental applications — to straighten, protect, repair and replace teeth — and we’re perfectly positioned to capitalize on this growth. Our decades of experience developing specialized dental materials and 3D printing technology along with our deep applications expertise will allow us to bring a full spectrum of high-volume production solutions to market in the coming years. We’re committed to this expansion and are working closely with key players in every dental product category to accelerate the availability of these advancements.”

With these innovations, 3D Systems underlines its role as a pioneer in digital dentistry, offering dental laboratories efficient solutions for the production of patient-specific dental products.
