LoopZizo K-100: Compact SLS 3D printer launches on Kickstarter

With the K-100, LoopZizo is launching an SLS 3D printer on Kickstarter that selectively fuses polymer powder using a laser. The manufacturer is positioning the system as a “desktop” version of industrial SLS technology and highlighting the advantage that no support structures are required. The campaign lists a “super early bird” price starting at $5,199.

According to the specifications, the K-100 uses a 5-watt 450 nm diode laser. The printer weighs 35 kg and measures 40 × 42 × 82 cm. The accuracy is specified as ±0.1 mm and a layer thickness of 0.1 mm in Z, and 0.05 mm for X/Y. LoopZizo specifies the heating time as 15 minutes and the cooling time as less than four hours. The powder supply is 3 kg. The company lists nylon 12, TPU, and PA11 as materials; it also advertises the processing of PA11 compounds. Data can be transferred via SD card, TF card, or USB. There is also a Wi-Fi connection. The build volume is specified as up to 140×140×140 mm.

The original goal of the campaign was $20,000. To date, the company has already raised over $400,000. As this is a Kickstarter project, there is also the usual risk of delays, changes to the product scope, or non-delivery.
