Following the success of their Kickstarter campaign for the LumiPocket LT all-in-one 3D printer, Italian startup Lumi Industries launches a new DLP 3D printer targeted at professionals: LumiForge
LumiForge is based on LumiPocket and the same top to bottom projection system. The new device features an enclosed design which protects the working area from external light that might interfere during printing and keeps in resin odour. At the same time, it guarantees good ventilation to prolong the projector’s lifetime.
What was still a manual process in LumiPocket has become fully automatic in LumiForge, for example projector and resin carriage movement, printing area and curing time setting. The device reaches a resolution of up to 37 microns on all three axis in a printing area of 10 cm diameter by 10 cm height. It is possible to extend the build area to 15 x 10 cm using the accessory XL Kit. The printing speed is approximately 18 mm per hour when printing with a 75 micron resolution but varies according to the material chosen.
Their proprietary Lumi Creator software has also been updated with new features to simplify the printing set up.
