The Luxembourg-based company AM 4 AM secures 1.3 million euros in a seed financing round for the expansion of its metal powder production. The funds mainly come from Luxembourg Space Sector Development and EIT Raw Materials.
AM 4 AM has been developing special metal powders for 3D printing using cold plasma technology since 2019. The company intends to use the funding to expand its production capacities and tap into new markets. “The future infrastructure will enable us to increase production, expand our product portfolio and drive innovation,” explains CEO Maxime Delmée.
The company’s main product is HiperAL, an aluminum alloy for 3D printing. The material is particularly aimed at applications in the aerospace and automotive industries, where lightweight and high-strength components are in demand.
Bernd Schäfer, Managing Director of EIT RawMaterials, emphasizes the importance of raw material development: “Companies like AM 4 AM play an important role in the future of the European economy and its sustainability.”
AM 4 AM plans to set up a complete development platform for metal powders by the end of 2024. The company is benefiting from Luxembourg’s start-up ecosystem. After participating in the Fit 4 Start accelerator program, the company continued its development at the Technoport incubator in Foetz.
