California-based 3D printer manufacturer MAKEiT, Inc. released their latest desktop 3D printer model, the MAKEiT Pro-L.
Based on the successful Pro-M version, the new and larger 3D printer with a build area of 30 x 25 x 33 cm (12 x 10 x 13 inches) features improvements including a new control board, a dual-phase bed heater, redesigned print head with dual-fan cooling system as well as more expansion capability.
Capable of achieving a layer hight of 10 microns, the Pro-L is equipped with a heated print bed and a dual nozzle extruder which can process a wide range of materials including ABS, PLA, PC, HIPS, PET, Nylon, flexible and other speciality filaments. Being able to 3D print two copies of the same object simultaneously, the powerful machine can be used for low-volume production.
The team used high quality components and has even 3D printed parts such as the print head carriage and X-bar ends in functionally durable PETG.
“The ability for PETG to carry constant load without failure allows us to press-fit our highest quality Misumi bearings into place, making for a square and secure hold. That same property allows us to incorporate the X-axis belt tension mechanism straight into the print head carriage, reducing parts and assembly complexity.”
