Maker presents 3D model for electric toy water gun from the 3D printer

The maker with the username 3dpdlv recently published an interesting project in which an electric water spray gun is produced using a 3D printer. The design is based on specially constructed 3D models and an electric water pump kit (“Electric Water Spray Kit 002”) from the manufacturer Bambu Lab. The developer provides all the necessary 3D files free of charge on the Makerworld platform.

In addition to the 3D-printed components, building the water gun only requires the aforementioned electronics kit from Bambu Lab. According to the developer, no additional adhesives or special connecting materials are required. Assembly is carried out solely by mechanically assembling the printed components. All you need is a screwdriver and a 2 mm Allen key.

He printed the individual components on a BambuLab X1-Carbon. The filaments used were mainly PLA variants from BambuLab. PLA Matte White Ivory for the base, PLA Basic Blue for color accents and PLA Glow Blue for noctilucent targets. The developer explicitly points out that the results may vary depending on the printer model, filament quality and print settings. He therefore strongly recommends using the 3MF file provided unchanged in order to achieve the tightest and most reliable construction possible.

The maker printed all components with a layer height of 0.20 mm. For most components, he chose a filling level of 15 percent. The exceptions are the magazine and its screw cap, for which Maker specifies a filling density of 100 percent. When printing, he also used so-called “tree supports”, which enable easier removal after the printing process.
