Metal 3D printing specialist Meltio and internationally established welding wire manufacturer Welding Alloys Group have announced a strategic partnership to drive the advancement of laser wire cladding technologies. The aim of the collaboration is to create innovative solutions for repair and maintenance processes based on the combination of Meltio’s laser technology and Welding Alloys’ high-quality wires.
Welding Alloys, a recognized supplier of cored wires for applications such as hardfacing and cladding for over 50 years, brings its expertise to the development of new materials for laser-based processes. These specially developed wires complement Meltio’s existing material portfolio and enable it to address the specific requirements of laser wire technology. The two companies are pooling their know-how to ensure optimized adaptation to growing market requirements.
Bastien Gerard, Group Business Development Director Consumables at Welding Alloys says about this new partnership with Meltio: “Partnering with Meltio enables us to develop high-performance wires tailored for laser wire cladding and hardfacing. This collaboration combines our technical strengths to deliver best-in-class repair and maintenance solutions, driven by innovative materials and leading technology. “
As part of the partnership, Welding Alloys will become Meltios’ official material partner for hardfacing and cladding and support the spread of the technology worldwide. Welding Alloys will work closely with technology centers, machine builders and academic institutions to create a supportive ecosystem and open up new business opportunities.
Francisco González, Sales EMEA director at Meltio explains: “This collaboration ensures that our customers receive the highest quality solutions, meeting the ever-growing demands of laser wire cladding. At Meltio we continue to make progress in this type of collaboration, such as with Welding Alloys to meet the demand of the metal parts manufacturing industries with our wire-laser technology.”
This cooperation shows how targeted partnerships can promote the further development of modern manufacturing technologies. The exchange of technical expertise and market knowledge enables both companies to continuously improve their offerings and meet the growing industrial requirements.
