The Spanish company Meltio, specialized in wire-based laser metal 3D printing systems, has appointed ProductionToGo Benelux as its official distribution partner for Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. The aim of the partnership is to build a local ecosystem for metal additive manufacturing and provide industrial users with access to Meltio’s wire-based manufacturing process.
Meltio’s process is based on Laser Metal Deposition (LMD) using commercially available welding wire as a starting material. In contrast to powder-based processes, this approach is considered more cost-effective and less complex in terms of storage, handling and safety. The system has a modular design and can be integrated into both CNC machines and robot cells. The target industries range from automotive and aerospace to energy and defense.
Ahmed Abo Seada, CEO of ProductionToGo Benelux, says about this new partnership with Meltio: “We at ProductionToGo Benelux are honored to collaborate with Meltio. Their unique capabilities in metal additive manufacturing and the impressive results their printers deliver make them a valuable addition to our 3D printing portfolio. We are excited to offer our partners and customers exclusive metal 3D printing solutions that focus on efficiency and the future.”
ProductionToGo Benelux will not only assume the sales function, but will also support the expansion of a partner network of mechanical engineering companies, integrators, research institutes and industrial users. The focus will be on developing application scenarios that combine additive and conventional manufacturing technologies.
Francisco González, Head of EMEA at Meltio highlights the significance of this partnership, stating: “We are thrilled to be working with and this collaboration between ProductionToGo Benelux us serves as a great indicator of how Meltio’s partner ecosystem and our unique wire-laser metal 3D printing technology for industries is evolving in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg markets both our industrial wire-laser metal Additive Manufacturing solutions in the center of Europe.” And he added: “Together, we will be able to cater to the ever-growing interest in Meltio’s technology and its applications for industries such as automotive, aerospace, defense, oil & gas, mining, energy and many others and reliable metal applications.”
With the market entry in the Benelux region, Meltio is pursuing a targeted expansion strategy in Europe.
