NASA challenges you to design a Logo for their In-Space Manufacturing project.
Having just send the upgraded version of the Made In Space 3D printer to the ISS, NASA also works on new technologies to develop manufacturing capabilities that will provide on-demand sustainable operations during their exploration missions. Therefore In Space Manufacturing (ISM) is responsible for testing and advancing technologies, skills and processes. This also includes developing a 3D printing Fabrication Laboratory (FabLab) to manufacture parts in space using multiple while embedding printed electronics or recycle in-space printed parts or other materials to reduce waste. They also aim at manufacturing structures externally in space.
The goal of the challenge is to create a logo and/or patch for the ISM project. The logo should “should graphically convey the key theme of space exploration and on-demand manufacturing/repair.” It will be placed in top corner of all presentation materials of the project, while a larger version will also be placed on the title page of presentations. Further, ISM will use it on team items such as shirts and mugs as well as educational materials. Additionally, the winner receives $ 300.
In order to find out more about the requirements, head to NASA’s website. Entries can be submitted until April 14th, 2016.
