Hamburg-based start-up 3Dock has presented a new type of platform for 3D printing solutions based on the “Infrastructure as a Service” (IaaS) concept. With a flexible subscription model, the platform offers companies the opportunity to use advanced 3D printing processes such as FDM, SLA and SLS without the need for large investments. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in particular should benefit from this approach, as they do not need their own equipment or specialized personnel.
The service allows users to upload CAD files, select materials and track the printing process in real time. In addition, 3Dock provides optional services, including design consulting and technical support. This combination should enable companies to plan and implement projects more efficiently. The aim of the platform is to act not only as a technology provider, but also as a strategic partner that accompanies companies from the concept phase through to series production.
According to the company, a unique selling point of 3Dock is the seamless integration of various functions into a single service. While many providers rely on isolated solutions, the start-up takes a holistic approach. It is thus responding to the increasing demand for flexible and scalable solutions in the industry. The service is aimed at sectors that are increasingly reliant on lean processes and fast innovation cycles.
