Manuevo BV, a company based in Eindhoven, has acquired the assets of the insolvent Shapeways BV. Shapeways BV, originally founded in 2008 in the Philips LifeStyle Incubator, was a profitable subsidiary of US-based Shapeways Holding Inc. Despite shipping over 16 million products to customers worldwide, the company was swept away by the insolvency of its parent company in early July.
Manuevo BV is backed by a local management team, supported by two co-founders of Shapeways. Together, they secured financing for the restart. While the Manuevo brand is active at www.manuevo.com, the use of the previous Shapeways domain is still part of the insolvency proceedings in the USA. In the future, Manuevo will focus primarily on B2B customers who require small to medium-sized series of 3D-printed and finished products.
Jules Witte, formerly Plant Manager at Shapeways BV and currently COO of Manuevo, says: “The Eindhoven team has been delivering high-quality parts with personal service for many years, and our customers have missed this service over the past month. Supported by the intention of many of our customers to return, we are pleased that we can make a restart; the unanimously positive responses from our regular customers are heartwarming. The team is particularly motivated to show that we can be independently successful.”
With a wide range of technologies and materials, Manuevo offers customized solutions for customers in industries such as automotive, aerospace, architecture and medical technology. Local manufacturing, design consultancy and quality control in Eindhoven are complemented by a network of 40 strategic partners. The production standards comply with ISO:9001, IATF 16949 and ISO 14001.
By automating ordering processes, parts analysis and production planning, Manuevo is positioning itself as a flexible and efficient provider of additive manufacturing services. The company plans to meet the demand of its customers with scalable and high-quality manufacturing solutions to ensure a successful restart.
