Nikon SLM Solutions grows by 36 percent to 150 million euros in sales in 2024

The company Nikon SLM Solutions has reported a turnover of 150 million euros for the 2024 financial year. This corresponds to growth of 36 percent compared to the previous year. Following the takeover by Nikon, SLM Solutions was delisted from the stock exchange and is therefore no longer subject to publication requirements. Nevertheless, CEO Sam O’Leary decided to publish these figures voluntarily.

These results strengthen Nikon SLM Solutions’ position in the international market for metal additive manufacturing. The company performs particularly well in comparison with major Chinese competitors such as BLT and Farsoon. Although BLT generated sales of around 170 million US dollars in the previous year, a large part of this came from services. Nikon SLM Solutions, on the other hand, focuses entirely on the sale of equipment and materials.

CEO Sam O’Leary emphasized that the strong result was due to the consistent further development of technologies in the field of metal 3D printing. Particular emphasis was placed on the production of the NXG XII 600 metal 3D printing system in the USA, which has been manufactured locally since June 2024. With this step, Nikon SLM Solutions responded to the increasing demand for locally manufactured systems in North America.

Another important step was the opening of the Nikon Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center in Long Beach, California, in July 2024. In addition, Nikon opened the Nikon AM Technology Center Japan in Gyoda, Saitama Prefecture, in February 2025. This new facility will help to further establish additive manufacturing technologies in Japan. With these investments, Nikon SLM Solutions aims to further expand its global presence and facilitate access to additive manufacturing solutions for industrial companies worldwide.
