Nikon SLM Solutions AG relies on the software ENTERPRISE 3Dfindit for the management and migration of technical design data. The company, a specialist in metal-based additive manufacturing, uses the platform not only for loss-free transfer of CAD data but also for strategic parts management and the integration of electronic CAD data into mechanical design processes.

As part of the implementation of a new PLM and CAD system, Nikon SLM Solutions faced the challenge of consistently migrating extensive design data from various sources. Traditional conversion processes often lead to geometry deviations or incomplete metadata. With ENTERPRISE 3Dfindit, the company was able to avoid this loss of quality. According to internal evaluations, the effort required for creating a new part was reduced by an average of 13 minutes, while data integrity was fully preserved.

ENTERPRISE 3Dfindit also serves as a central platform for parts management. Designers can access standardized components, purchased parts, and custom geometries, integrating them efficiently into new projects. This prevents redundancies in part creation and shortens development cycles. In addition, ECAD integration enables direct exchange between electronic and mechanical design data. This link between MCAD and ECAD systems particularly supports the development of complex assemblies, such as those used in the energy and aerospace industries.

According to Nikon SLM Solutions, the use of the software helps standardize development processes and ensure long-term internal data quality. Combined with the company’s additive manufacturing technologies, this creates a fully integrated digital process chain — from component design to metal production.
