With the updated SLM280, SLM280 Production Series and SLM500 models, Nikon SLM Solutions has presented a further development in the field of additive metal manufacturing. The revised machines aim to increase efficiency and reliability in industrial manufacturing and guarantee a minimum uptime of 85 percent. With a target of over 90 percent availability, the company is setting new standards in productivity.
The innovations include optimized recoater brushes, a Permanent Filter Module (PFM) and 700-watt lasers that improve production output and quality. In addition, the design of the machines has been optimized for ease of use. These improvements are aimed specifically at applications in the aerospace, automotive and tooling industries, where precision and reliability are critical.
To accompany the product launch, Nikon SLM Solutions has introduced the “Picture Perfect Pro Plan”, a service program that offers customers in North America and Europe five years of access to software solutions such as SLM.Link and Free Float. The package also includes powder supply contracts and additional build cylinders to minimize production downtime. The extended service period offers additional security and predictability for industrial users.
The concept was presented at Formnext 2024, one of the leading trade fairs for additive manufacturing. With the Pro Plan, Nikon SLM Solutions underlines its commitment to precision and long-term customer success. The combination of improved hardware and comprehensive service offering strengthens the company’s position as a provider of reliable and efficient metal manufacturing solutions and addresses the growing demands of the industry.
