NinjaTek and colorFabb Announce Joint Distribution Venture

Fenner Drives®, brand owner of filament brand NinjaTek, and colorFabb announce their brand-new cooperative relationship today. Effective immediately, the companies will serve as each other’s distributor.

Fenner Drives, located in Manheim, PA, will distribute colorFabb’s filaments in the North American market. colorFabb, based in the Netherlands, will distribute Fenner Drives’ NinjaTek branded filaments in Europe and the Middle East.

This venture represents the first time in FDM 3D printing that two filament producers engage in such a robust cooperative relationship.

Ruud Rouleaux, CEO of colorFabb, says, “We have been in talks with Fenner Drives for a while now to discuss how we can benefit from each other’s strengths and brand equity to ensure growth for both brands in each other’s markets. NinjaTek is an established brand in 3D printing and its portfolio of flexible filaments is a great addition to what colorFabb currently offers. Having a strong partner with extensive knowledge of the North American market and in-depth material know-how is a valuable addition for colorFabb. We think the synergy this partnership brings is of tremendous added value for both companies and our customers.”

Brian Slingluff, VP Sales and Marketing of Fenner Drives, says, “We are very pleased to announce this partnership with colorFabb. The development of the NinjaTek and colorFabb brands have both evolved in a similar manner over the past several years. As a company, colorFabb shares the same values, consideration to quality and dedication to customer satisfaction that we do. This partnership will provide a much larger assortment of high quality filaments for any application. That means much better options and product solutions for our customers across the globe. This is very exciting event for both companies, for our employees and our customers!”

Both companies possess a proven track record for focusing on their strengths (developing high-quality filaments for the 3D printing market) while leveraging their regional market presence. Several similarities exist between the companies: both started over five years ago and have established themselves as premium filament brands in a relatively short time.

colorFabb’s history began in 2012 when it was established as a brand of Helian Polymers. The brand colorFabb went to the market in early 2013 and spun off as its own independent company in September 2015. Operating from its 3D Application Center strategically located in the south of the Netherlands, it includes materials, hardware (Stacker 3D printers) and consultancy.
The filament market is rapidly evolving. While only a few companies produced filaments when colorFabb and Fenner entered the industry, many more manufacturers now occupy this space. With

this strategic partnership, both companies expect to continue the growth in 3D printing filament that has been instrumental to their success.
